Recipe 2: Soft and Chewy Caramel Bars



This is my second attempt on baking and I got good feedbacks when I brought the caramel bars in the office! They were asking me to sell caramel bars actually. Yay! (☆ω☆*) I am still not that confident with my skills so I told them I just bake because I like food. (✿◠‿◠)


Ingredients


  • 170g salted butter

  • 4 egg yolks

  • 1/2 cup white sugar

  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

  • half can of condensed milk

  • half cup of powdered milk

  • 1 cup of all purpose flour

Steps


1. Preheat the oven at 175 degrees Celcius

2. Mix the ingredients:

  • butter

  • egg yolks

  • condensed milk

  • powdered milk

  • baking powder

2. Add the all purpose flour and mix again until the texture thickens

3. Put a parchment paper in a baking pan

4. Pour the caramel batter on the baking pan

5. Add walnuts ( or any nuts ) as topings



Baking


Bake for 40 minutes at 140 degrees Celsius. It should look golden brown. You can use an air fryer or a microwave oven. On my first attempt - I used an air fryer but I had to divide the mixture into two and use a smaller baking pan.


Cut into squares while still warm.
